Community Designs

Model Railroad Control Systems serves as a hub for community-supported open-source hardware. These products are submitted by hobbyist developers who wish to make their designs available to other model railroaders. MRCS undertakes to have the boards manufactured and offers them for sale as is. Support is by the developer. Note that most of these designs are intended as "point solutions" for the use of the developer or customer they were designed for. As such they are not fully "productized" may have limited (even if obvious to you) options, minimal, if any, documentation and localization. Contact us with any requests you may have for modfied versions and we'll discuss your options! In the meantime they're really inexpensive, so buy a board or two and see what they do!

Our price is based on actual production cost plus overheads for shipping, taxes, merchant fees and the costs of running this store. This makes it possible for us to offer these products to you in small quantities. These boards are manufactured off shore and may be subject to supply chain and price issues depending on international tensions. On low volume products we offer bare boards but on higher volume products with a proven design we may offer Assembled and Tested boards.
